We Are Back!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 7 months of silence, I have finally got back on line and updated the website!! It will be updated every week from now on.

It's Been a Bit Quiet On Here!

It's been quiet for a while on here! KCC Swallow lost there 5th league game of the season last week to a Man In Space team containing 2 ex KCC players. Former skipper Gary Mewdell and Martin Rudge now play for the MIS in the league. Pip Fenton beat Martin however Gary beat Mouse giving the MIS a 6-3 win. Pairs next week, with a home match against the BIH the following week, rumour has it that KCC may be giving a season debut to someone who hasn't played for a while when they meet the BIH.............watch this space!

Another League Title Up North

KCC Swallows legend Steve 'Ginger Prince' Gurnsey picked up his 2nd league title in as many seasons for Britannia Building Society Sports and Social Club. The Division 2 title was decided on the final day of the season, BBSC ran out winners 7-2 and are looking forward to playing in Division 1 of the Leek and District Darts League next season. For the 2nd season in a row Gurnsey only lost 1 match, (I should have won that one as well, but tried to be cocky on me outshot and fu#*ed it up). Next week he tried to defend his doubles title with playing partner Steve 'Chief' Bettany.

Final Defeat

KCC Swallows battled hard but went down 6-3 to a determined Ship team in the Cup Final. Graham Purnell picked up M.O.M. for the Swallows but it was Talisman Tony Snooks 2 defeats that hit the Swallows hard. Good wins for Pip Fenton and Graham in the singles and Graham and Dave Hemmings in the pairs. So that's it for the summer, roll on next season................................

No Repeat

Tony Snook picked up his 10th M.O.M. on Wednesday, but KCC couldn't repeat last weeks performance and went down 6-3 in the league to the Hollybush. There were some good performances from Pip Fenton and Graham Purnell, even Dave 'Mouse' Atcherley picked up a win!

Cup Semi Final Glory

KCC pulled off a shock win over the Hollybush in the KDDA Cup Semi Final. It was the best perfomance of the season for the guys. Leading 3-0 after the pairs, the game looked already won, but four straight singles games put the Hollybush one win away from victory. However a class performance from the skipper Tony Snook and a vintage performance from Dave Hemmings (6  x 100 or more) saw the boys home. For the first time in a while there were some good player points scored by more than just Tony. Pip Fenton and Graham Purnell scored 5, Choky 7, Dave Hemmings 16, and (another) M.O.M. Tony Snook 19. Tony also bagged a 180 and 100 check. The Hollybush will be looking for revenge next week when they meet up again in the league.

Advantage Swallows

KCC Swallows gained the advantage on Wednesday in the battle for 3rd place with a convincing 6-3 win over the Snooker Club. There were some good performances from Graham Purnell, Pip Fenton and Dave Hemmings but it was Tony Snook who took another M.O.M. There were also some shocking performances from Mouse and Choky, with the latter managing to win his game! Next week Dave Hemmings, Dave Atcherley and Graham Purnell play in the finals night of the KDDA Triples at KCC, good luck guys, bring the trophy home.

Captain/Secretary Comp

Tony Snook and Graham Purnell lost in the Semi Finals of the Captain/Secretary Cup to eventual winners Malcolm Jeffery and Neil Butt from the Ship.

KDDA Triples Round Up

There were mixed results for KCCs two triples teams in the first knockout rounds this week. Tony Snook, Pip Fenton and Choky were unfortunately knoked out at the first hurdle to the pre tournament favourites from the Hollybush. However there was more joy for Graham Purnell, Dave Atcherley and Dave Hemmings who progressed to the last 8. Finals night will be held at the KCC on 27th February.

Nice Trip No Game

KCC travelled over to Hanham last week to find out that the Cross Keys have pulled out the league! So no game for the guys the week before the In House Championship. Steve 'The Ginger Prince' Gurnsey hasn't decided if he will travel down from Staffordshire for the night yet, but with a very cheeky quote said "With the form I'm in at the moment, it wouldn't be fair to the guys who have played all season for me to turn up and win, I don't think I'd be able to get down for the final anyway!" He added "I reckon it's about time Graham won it" Hopefully there will be live updates from the tournanment during Wednesday nights action.

After beating the New Inn last week the KCC Swallows won again turning over Fry Club 6-3. There were some solid perfomances from Tony Snook & Graham Purnell. But it Was Dave Hemmings who took the M.O.M. with 8 points from his game. Next week KCC travel to the Cross Keys in Hanham which will be their last league game of 2007.

Graham Purnell picked up his second M.O.M. of the season, but the Swallows went down to their 2nd defeat in a row. Choky made a welcome return to the side hitting a 180, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Ship Nomads. KCC travel down the Wellsway this week for the big derby match against the New Inn.

KCC Swallows won again against the Bird in Hand last week. Another outstanding performance from skipper Tony 'B.A.S.' Snook saw him take the M.O.M. Dave 'Mouse' Atcherley rolled back the years with a magnificent 114 checkout. Next week KCC play the Hollybush the team that last year played out of the crown and Horseshoe.

Back on Track

KCC Swallows got back on the rails with a close 5-4 win over the Talbot. However it took a last leg victory from captain and M.O.M. Tony Snook to get the points. In a weak team performance, apart from Tony, only Graham Purnell came away with a positive points total. New signing Chocky didn't turn up and the KCC may need to pick up one more player if their title ambitions are still positive ones. Next week the KCC go to the Bird in Hand; a venue over the past few years where they have done well. Although, watch out for the stale sausage rolls!!

KCC Swallows were stuffed 7-2 by the Ship on Wednesday. Only skipper Tony Snook and Pip Fenton showed any resistance to the Ships power, with Tony picking up the M.O.M. KCC were without star player Neil Raikes, who has gone back to play in the Bath League. The Somerset star may not be seen in KCC colours again this season. However, an old favourite has re-joined the KCC, Choky makes a welcome return to the side after last appearing at the end of the 98-99 season. He makes his first appearance next week against the Talbot.

Singles Glory for KCC

Neil Raikes won the KDDA singles title tonght beating fellow Swallows player Tony Snook. Tony has won the event twice in the past but could not overcome Raikes power tonight. Neils victory means the trophy comes back to the KCC for the 7th year running! It was also a good night for the Big Fella Graham 'Psyco' Purnell, who made it through to the quarter finals.

Another Record

Neil Raikes scored an amazing 33 points in 1 game and 44 on the night as KCC Swallows continued their good start to the season. Next week the guys play in the league singles knockout, in which Neil is the hot favourite to take the title.

3 in a Row and a New Record

KCC Swallows made it 3 on the bounce with an easy 7-2 win over the Trout. Graham Purnell picked up his 1st M.O.M for some time with 19 points on the night.

Graham and Dave Hemmings have both over taken Steve Gurnseys appearance record of 259 games for KCC. Dave now has 266 appearances and Graham 264.

Best Season Ever for The Ginger Prince

KCC legend Steve 'the Ginger Prince' Gurnsey celebrated his most successful darts season on Monday when him and his doubles partner Steve 'Chief' Bettany picked up the Leek and District Darts League Pairs Title. They beat the pre-comp favourites from the Valiant 2-1 in an exciting final. Steve said "I've only ever won the Keynsham Leagues Captain/Secretary cup before and came runners up in the Pairs with Dave Hemmings a couple of years ago. I move 150 miles away from home and pick up 2 winners medals, It must be the fresh air! We've got a great team up here and I'd love to bring them down to play KCC." There's a couple of weeks rest for Steve before L&DD Summer League starts on 21st May. Steve also said "I'll be back in Keynsham over the Bank holiday weekend, so if anyone wants (to buy me) a beer join me up the Cricket club on Saturday night!"

Congratulations to The Ginger Prince

Congratulations to former KCC player Steve 'The Ginger Prince' Gurnsey who picked up his first league title after 12 years of trying. On Monday Britannia Building Society Sports and Social Club Darts Team beat the Leek Central Club 7-2 to become champions of Leek & District Darts League Division 3. Steve capped off a great season for the BBSS&SC with a 16 dart leg in his final game. It was an impressive first season for the Ginger Prince with a record of played 17 won 16 lost 1! Steve said "the standard of darts is pretty similar to what I was used to in Keynsham and to come out of the season with a match record like that is amazing. I've got the pairs finals night (last 8) to look forward to on the 30th April, so I'm hoping that my replacement for Dave Hemmings, Steve 'Chief' Bettany can help me to add to my silverware collection!" I'm sure Steve will let us know how he gets on?!
